At its heart, Generation House is a new home to assist our client’s mother as she ages with amenities for her health and safety. At its soul, this project will be an additional home owned by the family that will benefit future generations to build generational wealth through real estate.
This unique massing sequence reflects the client’s concept: a gathering spot for extended family. The smaller volumes extracted from the larger volume are window and door openings. The billowing façade is representative of the family activity. The use of natural materials, dynamic patterns, and deep textures creates an interior that is welcoming, spacious, and inspirational.
The illuminated interior will highlight the deep curved setbacks. The lower portions of the window openings would be muted for privacy yet allow the light to be a beacon for friends and family and security for the neighbors by lighting the pathways and pavement.
The kitchen is bright and airy with plenty of space. Other amenities include a living room, bedrooms, and accessible bathrooms. The undulating façade creates uniquely shaped indoor niches that are private yet close enough to any family activity. A roof-top terrace allows for sanctuary and a biophilic sense of well-being.
